Museum stroller professional

I am a museum professional and social media strategist researching the intersection of the open web, online collaboration, and educational theory within museums. I’m lucky enough to work in a museum that empowers me to explore these ideas through my work and beyond.

I hold a Masters in Museum Studies. My research centers on the concept of Open Authority, a term I developed to describe the integration of open, collaborative digital communities with museum dialogue and interpretation. This is influenced by my background in social studies education and the Reggio Emilia approach as well as a broader interest in the digital humanities.

Since 2009, I have been involved in projects that facilitate the use of Wikipedia to share cultural resources. I’m highly involved in the GLAM-Wiki initiative, an international group of Wikipedians who assist cultural institutions in collaborating with Wikipedia in order to share multimedia content and cultural expertise. In 2012 I served as US Cultural Partnerships Coordinator for the Wikimedia Foundation.
