About

I am a museum studies graduate student with experience in collections management, preventative conservation, social media strategies, and public program development. I’m currently researching the potential of Wikipedia and other online tools to engage new perspectives in the interpretation of cultural heritage. This research is influenced by my background in social studies education and an interest in the digital humanities.

Since 2009, I have been involved in projects that facilitate the use of Wikipedia to share cultural resources. I’m highly involved in the GLAM-Wiki initiative, an international group of Wikipedians who assist cultural institutions in collaborating with Wikipedia in order to share multimedia content and cultural expertise. I have served as Wikipedian in Residence at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis since August 2010, initially as an intern and now as full-time staff within my position as Digital Marketing Content Coordinator.

In 2012 I will be serving as US Cultural Partnerships Coordinator for the Wikimedia Foundation. In this role I will work with the Wikimedia community to establish a streamlined infrastructure for US cultural institutions to connect with and collaborate with Wikimedia.
